Selective Mutism

Selective Mutism is a social anxiety disorder, which primarily affects children and can be very disabling in certain situations, usually where the child feels anxious in a social situation. It typically starts before the age of 5, but can be later,  and often goes unnoticed until they start school or nursery.

Hypnotherapy can help the child by lowering their anxiety and help them to feel safe, increase their self esteem and self confidence, increase feelings of mental and physical relaxation and feelings of comfort.

I work with parents by supporting them and their child, along with their educational SM programme if they have one and help to reduce the parents anxiety.

If your child has Selective Mutism contact me to find out how I can help.
